Thirty years ago, on March 1, , Progress M-3 cargo vehicle lifted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome under the Mir manned orbital station carrying the sixth primary expedition crew. Apart from the life-support equipment, experiment kits and propellant the vehicle delivered a new Salyut-5B on-board digital computer complex ODCC. After delivery to the cosmodrome Soyuz MS remained in a storage mode on the territory of the assembly and testing facility at site No. On January 28 the spacecraft was removed from storage and installed in the processing facility bench to carry out planned operations of the initial ground processing phase. Rocket and Space Corporation Energia continues development of a super-heavy launch vehicle and the new manned spacecraft Orel, which are to become parts of the new space transportation system enabling missions to the Moon and beyond.
